Scope

The goal of this mini-symposium is to provide a forum of high order numerical methods and their applications to the international community of computational fluid dynamics. The mini-symposium will cover 1) recent development of high order numerical methods for conservation laws, 2) robust and parameter-free shock capturing, 3) adaptive methods, 4) applications of high order methods in fluid dynamics such as fluid-structure interaction, detonation. 

This mini-symposium emphasizes on both the theoretical and numerical development of the high order numerical methods for conservational laws. The speakers from the departments of mathematics, physics, and engineering would present their recent progress on models, numerical methods, and applications of conservational laws. Numerical methods in this mini-symposium cover (but are not limited to) finite volume (FV) type essentially non-oscillatory (ENO) methods, FV type weighed ENO (WENO) methods, compact differencing methods, k-exact methods, high-order continuous/discontinuous Galerkin finite element (DG) methods, hybridized discontinuous Galerkin methods (HDG), spectral difference methods, spectral volume methods, flux reconstruction methods/correction procedures via reconstruction.
