With the phenomenal advances in computing power over the past decades, high-order methods (e.g., spectral/hp/spectral-element methods) have gained increasing popularity in computational physics and engineering. They have been evolved as reliable tools for emerging applications that are stringent in resolution and long time calculations with acceptable storage requirement.
This mini-symposium aims to bring together computational scientists and numerical analysts working on research fields pertinent to high-order methods and their applications. The emphases of this mini-symposium is put on, but not limited to, high-order methods for computational material sciences, fluid dynamics, electromagnetism and related areas. The topics also span to high-order methods for problems which are global in nature, e.g., fractional differential equations and integral equations.
It is anticipated that this mini-symposium will provide a platform for active researchers in various fields to exchange ideas, identify problems and future directions, and promote the development, analysis and applications of high-order methods to a wider scientific and engineering community.
