Scope

Excited state dynamics is one of the main topics of both optics and condensed matter physics. Excitation by light, especially coherent laser, generates ultrafast phenomena and unique condensed phases of matter, which are of great interests both from basic science and applied research points of view like solar cells, photocatalyst. This mini-symposium aims to highlight recent work on the ultrafast photoexcited and nonadiabatic dynamics of materials both from experiments and calculations. All computational efforts including GW, BSE, TDDFT, surface hopping, etc are highly desirable. The related topics include but are not limited to: ultrafast electron dynamics, ultrafast lattice dynamics and XANES, dynamics beyond Born-Oppenheimer approximation, photoinduced structural transition and topological phase transition. The development of the state-of-art methods on excited state and/or nonadiabatic simulations is also encouraged.
