Scope

Kinetic theory plays an important role in a variety of areas. However, the complexity and high dimensionality of most kinetic equations make it a great challenge for numerical simulation. Recent advantages in this field are making the kinetic simulation more and more feasible by introducing new modeling ideas and numerical techniques, and the purpose of this mini-symposium is to gather researchers in this area and exchanging ideas with each other.

This mini-symposium includes a wide range of kinetic and related applications including rarefied gas dynamics, neutron transport, phonon transport, plasma, etc. Different skills in both modeling and simulation are welcome, including deterministic and stochastic numerical solvers, moment methods, hybrid methods, half-space problems, etc. Analysis of specific problems with kinetic models and mathematical theory of kinetic equations are also to be included.
