Inverse problems are described by the property that the analytical or numerical solutions are extremely sensitive to measurement and modelling errors, and regularization methods are generally adopted to resolve the ill-conditioned problems in the inverse computation.The computational solution of such problems is closely associated with the interdisciplinary field with significant connections to optimization, numerical methods including finite element methods, GPU/parallel computation, big data, control theory, differential equations, asymptotic analysis, statistics, and probability. 

Our topic is targeted in computational issues as well as general topics in computation inversion theory in physics and biomedical imaging. Methodological applications and models include electrical impedance tomography, CT/MRI/PET, photoacoustic tomography, diffuse optical tomography, optical coherence tomography, ultrasound/elastic mechanical tomography, confocal and two-photon microscopy, finite element method solutions of multiphysics equations and nonlinear regularization algorithm, multivariable optimization, large-scale model-based control, limited angle tomography and ultrasound transmission problems. In addition, the related applications include biomedical, industrial and environmental applications such as cancer early detection, image-guided treatment and therapy,neurological and psychiatric disorders, dental radiology, process tomography and satellite imaging are also our interests.
